2020 was to be a good year. The diary was full and we were working on some fantastic events and weddings. We had placed orders for new furniture and new marquees and our crew were coming back to work for the Summer season.
What happened next, nobody could have predicted, but overnight our diary cleared as events were cancelled or postponed…
Obviously, this isn’t just our story, it applies to all types of companies and industries. No business is immune and we are sure there are small company owners and Directors all over the World trying to work out just how to keep things going.
However, this isn’t just a tale of woe. We have offered to hold over deposits for all events until a new date and most of our bookings have now given us firm new bookings. Our warehouse is closed and we have mothballed the company for the time being. David is working as a groceries delivery driver for a few months and is proud to be helping to ‘feed the nation’. This is helping with the finances, as well as the boredom of isolation. Verity continues to answer emails and the phones are always manned.
The great news is that we are starting to see people booking new events and celebrations for 2021 and our diary starts to fill up once again. Our orders for new furniture and marquee canvasses have been put on hold but we will take delivery of these just as soon as we can. We feel fortunate that our business can and will survive.
These times spent indoors can be used to dream, research and plan those parties, weddings and events that will be so needed when this crisis has passed. Rest assured, we are still here to help you in any way we can and we have plenty of time at the moment to chat, email, send photos or draw up plans.
So lets get planning! We are sure that everyone will be very grateful for any chance to meet up, celebrate and party!
