When we quote for a marquee, we will usually quote based on what has been requested in the enquiry and what we believe will suit your particular event.
However, there are a large number of options that can be considered when choosing your final marquee.
Here we take a look at some of them.
Different size/layout
We would normally quote for a marquee that we consider would be optimum size/layout for your number of guests. However, our marquees come in 3m, 6m, 9m and 12m widths. So if we were to quote for a 6m x 12m marquee, you could also look at a 9m x 9m which would give similar capacity but would be a square space rather than rectangular. Similarly, if we were to quote for a 9m x 21m marquee, you may prefer 12m x 15m. It really does depend on your preferences and the space available.

6m x 6m pagodas joined together
Alternatively, for small celebrations, consider our pagoda style marquees. We have up to five which can be joined together to create a great party venue!
Window walls
Our marquees come as standard with a mixture of plain walls and Georgian window walls. The positioning of the window walls can be discussed when we conduct the site visit. Each of these walls can be unlaced and drawn back like curtains to create an opening or to open up the marquee in good weather.

Georgian window walls
We can however add some completely clear window walls to the front and/or sides of the marquee. These are particularly effective when there is a lovely view to be enjoyed. These clear windows unzip at each side and can be easily rolled up and clipped in place.
Lining options
Our marquees and pagodas can be supplied lined or unlined. Our standard linings are pleated ivory roof linings, wall linings, window drapes with tie backs and swags. However there are various options that you might like to consider.
Navy blue swags and window drapes
Black and white roof linings
Add black starlit roof linings over a dance floor and maybe opt for black wall linings in this area, to create a totally different night-time look.
We can introduce coloured swags and/or window drapes to break up the ivory. We have some colours in stock and if we don’t have what you are looking for, we can source something suitable for you. Roof overlays in a colour to suit your scheme also look gorgeous.
Clear gable and roof section
Bring the outside inside by adding a clear roof section and/or gable end. A clear section at one end of the marquee can look stunning, especially once the sun goes down. We wouldn’t recommend a completely clear roof however as things could get very hot inside during sunny Summer weather.

Additional areas/chill out marquees
If you need extra space for a bar or photo booth, we can add a small ‘recess’ to the main marquee to accommodate this. Alternatively, you may wish to consider a separate (or joined) chill out area. Our pointy top pagodas can make a stunning addition to a main marquee and you can have one on its own or join two or more together to provide a reception drinks area, games area or dance tent.
If you prefer one large marquee but would like to section off different areas within it, you could consider adding a reveal curtain. This curtain can separate daytime from evening areas, for example,
Join all the extra areas together or have them all separate to create a ‘marquee village’ – the choice is yours!

Entrance canopy and wooden doors
Entrance porch/canopy or walkway
It is always welcoming to have a specific entrance point to your marquee. Consider adding a pagoda, an oriental style entrance porch or a canopy.
Alternatively, we can create a covered walkway, maybe attached to a building or to take guests from one area to another. If you don’t need a covered walkway but would just like a path to be laid over a rough/muddy area, this is no problem either as our plastic tiled flooring is perfect for this use.

Wooden doors
Double wooden doors
Whilst we can create doorways/openings anywhere in a marquee, our wooden doors create a super entrance. Especially effective where you will have a lot of people entering or leaving the marquee and particularly good in colder weather to help keep the heat in.
Flooring options
For most Spring/Summer marquees that are sited on grass, we would usually lay groundsheets with either carpet or matting over the top. Our standard carpet is charcoal grey which provides a great contrast against the ivory linings and is very forgiving – you don’t need to worry about muddy footprints for example! However, we can also supply natural coir matting or we can order in single use carpet in the colour of your choice.
For marquees on a hard standing, we would always recommend having a solid floor with carpet overlay. This is because if it rains heavily, water can run over the hard surface into the marquee and get soaked up by the carpets. The last thing you want at your event is wet, soggy carpets!
